Development Manager (BDM) for a civil construction company drives growth by
identifying new opportunities, managing end-to-end tender/bidding processes
(government/private), and securing contracts. They combine technical knowledge
of construction (civil engineering) with strategic networking, cost estimation
(BOQ), and e-tendering expertise to win projects. Key roles include conducting
market research, managing client relationships, and submitting competitive,
compliant proposals.Key
Responsibilities• Documentation
& Compliance: Ensuring all proposals meet regulatory, technical, and
contractual requirements.• Relationship
Management: Building and maintaining networks with clients, consultants, and
stakeholders.• Estimation
& Costing: Reviewing Tender Documents, analysing BOQ (Bill of Quantities),
and assisting in technical bidding. Required
Qualifications & Skills• Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; MBA/PGDM in marketing
is highly desirable.• Experience:
5–7 years in business development, specifically within civil construction or
infrastructure.• Technical
Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil, EPC, or turnkey projects, contract
law, and construction methodologies.• Software
Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and e-tendering portals.• Key
Skills: Negotiation, strategic planning, analytical thinking, and effective
communication.
